„We’ve stayed in the other property and that seemed to be abit more updated than this one. It advertised as having internet but as property is so remote and thick cottage stone we couldn’t get any internet. Also kitchen area may be needs some updating. All in all had a lovely time. “

It is well located and a short walk down into town (but probably a long climb back which we didn’t do because of the ice) The hosts could not have been more helpful. „We absolutely loved our stay at The Bobbin and just wish it were longer. The cottage is cosy and inviting, and it was our perfect home base to explore Derbyshire. Everything was clean, Simon was wonderfully communicative, and we loved the tip about going to the Ashford Arms for dinner. It was so good we went back the next night. We're already dreaming up an excuse to stay here again!“

„Very pleasant, well-decorated house, plenty large enough for the two of us, in an ideal location. Only criticism is the kitchen equipment - PLEASE provide kitchen scales, 2 x glass-lidded casserole dishes, a large slotted spoon, and a frying pan spatula. Then, five stars!“

„We booked the cottage for a week's stay whike work was being done on our home. It was a real home from home too. Everything's there, including electric blankets to warm the beds. Although thd heating kept the cottage toasty, we turned most off except living room and bathroom. Loved the log burner too, a real focal point. Internet provided was good, a bonus as the phone signal there is poor, as is most of the local area due to hills etc. Would certainly recommend.“

„A well equipped and beautifully located cottage. Good position for visiting Buxton, Chester Zoo and all the Peak District walks. Good Local amenities. Friendly owners on hand for any issues or queries. Easily sleeps 8 (2 double and 2 twin room) and has two lovely hot showers. Plenty space for families!“

„Acer Cottage is ideally situated for exploring the area. Tideswell is peaceful yet very well served with essential services. It was a treat to find the Merchant’s Yard just steps away and the bakery was great too. The cottage itself was equipped and furnished to a high level and communication before arrival was excellent. “
