During our arrival of the property, the driveway was full of snow, we almost past the road and the house (neither was plowed.) The driveway is a downslope, so there was sorry that we might slide when we’re coming or going. Wasn’t too thrilled about the extra long number for the code on the door, though I get that the longer the number, the more secure the house is, just that you also have to spend more time out in the cold to get all the numbers punched in correctly. There was also no lights throughout the whole property, upon arrival, so we had to reposition the car and use that head lights and flashlight from my phone to maneuver. I noticed at the end of our stay that the towel rack was broken from the wall and placed back in position as if it wasn’t broken and it was sturdy (which it wasn’t.) Also wasn’t thrilled to learn that we weren’t supposed to flush the toilet when we’d pee, but only when we pass our bowels, AFTER we paid for the stay. The bathroom sink did not disperse any hot water, which was also never mentioned to us. Everything else about the house was great. However, our trip was ruined because in Valentine’s Day, which was the purpose of our trip, I left my girlfriend sleeping as I went to gather the last items to surprise her with a romantic Valentine’s morning. Instead, I receive a frantic call from her stating that someone was in the house and I was a ten minute drive away. My girlfriend (who’s usually still sleeping at this time,) stated that someone opened the bedroom door while she was still in bed and when she looked up thinking it was me, the person closed the door. Then proceeded wandering through the house to then go in the veranda, which is on the side of the bedroom, exposing the whole side of the room with the two big windows and a glass door, which once the intruder began walking through, my girlfriend locked eyes with the woman as she casually walked by. My girlfriend gets up startled and walks out the room in a panic wondering who else is in the house, and she sees the wet footprints tracked through the house as it shows her intruder clearly passed by all of our luggage and shoes, and even took the time to start cleaning up around our belongings. I couldn’t get back to the house fast enough. The property manager eventually informed me that it was the housekeeper, who’d arrive way before our checkout time. Our Valentine’s surprises each, were ruined. Even the breakfast outing I planned.
