« This property is definitely a 10 plus property and Neil and Karen are the sweetest people. They check in with us on our day of arrival and when we were not going to arrive until after 10:30 pm. She left the lights on for us and texted us Along the way to be sure we were okay. The house is beautiful and we wish we could have stayed longer and used the kayaks that they had. « Cozy and well laid out cottage. Prefect for our family of 4 and so close to the public beach just a two minute walk down the quiet road. Less than an hour from Halifax airport and 30min from downtown Halifax. Only 10 min to Hubbards or Queensland Beach. Great location! »

« Wow! Whalesback Cottage was the Nova Scotia oceanside escape that we were looking for. Our own private space – no traffic … no crowds … and the only sounds were the waves hitting the rocks. We spent countless pleasant hours watching the tides change the view … scanned the ocean with binoculars looking for the whales folks see occasionally. A few excited moments at dusk when we caught sight of several whales waaaaay out – okay, turned out be distant shoals but what fun! Enjoyed long walks … to...

« While planning our trip, we narrowed our choice to two locations in the area both listed “with an ocean view”. We chose The Lookout Cottage because the house was so lovely and it indeed is. However, it is a bay view which is nice, it is just we expected an ocean view as listed in the “Private, ocean view home” There is a sliver of an ocean view but obscured by another house. In all of the photos online, a neighboring house is not shown. Although a lot or so away, the backside including trash...

« Our group of four just stayed for a week in August and had an incredible time at this property! We found everything to be true to the listing if not better, and the stunning views from multiple directions made our stay even more memorable. We were able to explore a great deal of the surrounding areas thanks to the central location, with short hops to nearby Lunenburg, Mahone Bay, Peggy's Cove, Chester, and of course Halifax and other great destinations.
