We booked through cheap tickets for a room in Van Horn, Texas. When we arrived they could not "find" or reservation for prepaid room. So I found that a queen room was $47 with tax, rack rate. I told the clerk I would like this room, since they couldn't "find" my pre-paid reservation, so we signed in and they asked for a credit card. They ran this card for $47. I then found my receipt in the suitcase and gave it to them and the prepaid amount was $77 with tax. So we were in the room for $47 and they couldn't find my charge so charged us again... until I found my receipt, then they found the pre-paid reservation. I asked for a refund of the $77, because they signed us in, [...] signed the register and we were given a receipt for the queen room (we had reserved a king). We went to our room. The manager was confused as to how much to refund us and was going to refund the $47, having us pay $77 for a king room, when we stayed in a queen room. She refunded $47, and $11 separately. I maintain she owes us the balance of approximately $19, that this was their mistake and they double billed us and signed us in for $47, denying the pre-paid reservation. I think they should pay the $19 for what they say is YOUR booking fee, not us, and that this was all because they could not find oue pre-paid reservation until I found my receipt and confirmation number, having to double pay until I found my receipt. By the way, there were only 3 guest rooms taken at the hotel. The local equivalent chains were $24 a night, ie. Days Inn, Budget Inn. The hot tub was broken. The Breakfast was minimal, the manager, probably owner's own words "we just serve the minimal", like sweet rolls cut in half, oj, coffee and cereal left out all the time. The internet service was good and the room average for a $77 room in some places, but not for Van Horn, Texas.I am not happy that rack rate was $47 at motel and $77 via Cheap Tickets, as I usually get a super deal through Cheap Tickets. The manager was pleasant, but would not hear me out. She was concerned that I was happy, but I still believe she should have refunded the $19 because it was her staff's error in not being able to find my prepaid reservation, making us pay twice.
