It was my boyfriend's 30th birthday and since you can't really do much these days with COVID, we decided to escape to a "cabin" in the woods. I think it's important to share that this really isn't a cabin, rather it is a house in a quiet, family-friendly community. If you are looking for seclusion or true privacy, I'd tell you to keep looking. Overall we had a good time, but there were a few things we expected a lot more from considering the price we paid for two nights was $715. 60% of that was VRBO service fees
Pro's: House was cleaned well upon arrival and fully stocked with towels, blankets, toiletries. Hot tub was great, and the patio seating outside was nice .The backyard is heavily wooded so it was a nice and cool refuge in the 90 degree heat of July. The kitchen was fully stocked and had everything we needed as far as cookware/dishes/etc, and then some. It also isn't shown in the photos, but the front deck is updated to have seating. Plenty of places to sleep.
Cons: First and foremost - and we knew when we booked it - is the house is super close to the other neighbors, but didn't realize how close until we got there. The cabin rules tell you over and over that you will possibly have the cops called on you for noise complaints because it's a residential neighborhood. It was to the point that it felt like we couldn't even sit on the patio and talk because the neighbors were literally RIGHT next door, steps away, and we weren't even loud. The neighbors were outside on their patio constantly looking over into the patio area. There wasn't any privacy from the view of the neighbors.
- We weren't told until after we booked the cabin (it wasn't in the ad) that there are only two cars allowed. We had to coordinate carpooling and fitting 6 people into two cars, only to find out when we got there, there was more than enough room for an additional car. Rules are fine, but I wish they were disclosed beforehand. I asked Vacasa and VRBO 2x about this and nobody ever responded to me.
- The pipe from the upstairs bathroom was leaking on us from the ceiling whenever somebody showered (over the stove)
- While the Apple TV is nice, it's super old, and the surround sound system is difficult to navigate...even for people who know tech pretty well.
- No real privacy for any bedroom except one (expected with the loft) but the back bedroom doesn't have a door
I do think this is a nice place, but for all the fees you're charged I expected a lot more.
