We loved our weekend in the yurt! It was chilly and rainy outside but warm and cozy inside. We enjoyed the location in the trees and the Yurt was exactly as we expected. A great time for us and our dog.
We had an enjoyable rustic experience in Penn Yan. We would have appreciated the front door area being free of leaves and sticks. The inside floor had a lot of leaves on it and I wasnât sure if the yurt had been cleaned/changed. I did some cleaning. We wouldnât use the water so no showers for us. The yurt is very cool and could be a much better experience. Maybe we hit it at a bad time. We werenât expecting perfection but the owners could take a little more pride in their property. Lots of positives: great tv, pet-friendly, heat was effective. Beautiful area.
We were very pleased that the description of the property was spot on. It was everything we were expecting. The location was amazing. The decor was exactly as advertised (and super cute). Would highly recommend this yurt for anyone wanting to try glamping. Had a great time!
The yurt was very much as described. It's both cute and cozy, and was more than enough space for me, my son, and our dog.
The heat/AC is via heat pump, which probably works great for cooling, but wasn't enough to keep the cold out while we were there in december. I ended up just using the oven to warm the place up.
Note that the water is non-potable well water, with a sulfur smell. Be sure to bring your own drinking water! Also, all the dishes are plastic, which is not great for hot food.
We were just staying overnight on a road trip, so didn't get to enjoy the campfire, but it looked like a great setup. I brought popcorn to pop on the stove, and the internet worked great for us to watch a silly TV show.
If you're expecting an apartment, you'll be disappointed. If you're expecting a tent, you'll be amazed.
We traveled over 10 hours to Penn Yan for a friends wedding. We picked the Yurt because it looked like a fun experience for the weekend with all of the amenities we wanted: AC/heat, electricity, a full kitchen and bathroom, and wifi. The yurt was cute spacious and very clean! It looks just how itâs pictured. Itâs right off the main road but secluded just enough in the woods for privacy. The driveway is not paved or gravel, just dirt so be careful if youâre driving in a small car like us. The drive/path is steep and uneven and there are no lights at night, even on the stairs and deck area which made it very hard to navigate and walk especially 6 months pregnant. The issue we had was with the water. We werenât aware it was well water until we had to reach out to the host the night before our trip asking for check in details. The water has a terrible smell of sulfur/eggs to it. We went to town and bought bottled water to drink and brush our teeth with. There was NO hot or even warm water for showers resulting in no choice but freezing cold showers (which still had an odor to the water). I reached out to the host twice asking for help and letting them know we had no hot water but never received a response back, not even after check out which is frustrating considering the price we paid.
We didnât really know what to expect when we booked a yurtâŠ.wow we were in for a wonderful surprise! This place is so beautiful. The attention to detail was perfect. Very much recommend!!
A quick spring break getaway led to the children enjjoying it and wanting to come back. A little tight for three kids with me for sleeping but we managed.
Fun way to spend time in the Finger Lakes! The yurt is convenient, yet secluded. It had enough amenities for convenience, without compromising on the experience of being in a yurt. It is delivers on a "tent like" experience of sounds; it rained while we were there and it was awesome. However, it is nicely decorated and isn't like camping at all. We found it to be the perfect blend for comfort and allowed us to spend time together without interacting with other people.
We loved our first experience staying in a yurt. It was beautiful inside and very cozy. Waking up to the birds chirping in the morning was so peaceful. We hope to make it back one day. Thank you so much for sharing your place with us.
Cute little place pretty much everything was thought of would have been lovely to use the fire pit area unfortunately it was covered in snow
Plan on returning in the summer months to enjoy all the amenities
I really enjoyed my stay⊠once I got the room temperature comfortable, slept like a baby. Local residents very friendly, absolutely loved the privacy.
The process for checking in was easy and the yurt was very clean! A ten minute drive to Penn Yan. The previous reviews we read mentioned the sulfur water so we made sure to bring our own drinking water.
We would recommend that if arriving in the winter/spring months you wear shoes you can get dirty- as you may have to park at the end of the driveway since it gets muddy.
A truly beautiful and lovely get away! We hope to visit it again soon!
This was a great place to stay for a quick get away in the finger lakes area. We were able to stay nice and warm in the Yurt even with the snow. Very convenient location. Highly recommend!
Cool experience, pretty secluded but easy to find. Beautiful, simple decor inside, despite temps in the 40s we managed to keep it fairly warm inside.
The water on site had quite an odor, we read about it ahead of time so we were prepared with plenty of drinking water.
Nice place to unwind in the woods but probably best for just two people to enjoy.
First, it rained the whole weekend so it limited our options. . The yurt was on a nice piece of land with lots of privacy. Close to the lake but no view. Fire pit and sitting area looked fun. Yurt was a perfect size for us and cutely decorated. It was clean. The water has a strong sulphuric smell so if youâre sensitive to that, you might want to bring drinking and cooking water. It was cozy and warm even with all the rain. The area is beautiful and filled with wineries and hiking. Everything is close by.
My wife and I spent just one night at the yurt, and would have liked to have had wifi and TV, but we made due with cell service and screen sharing to the TV. The water smells awful like sulfer. To the credit of the property owner, they did mention mention this, but was not up front in the listing. The location was by far the best part, and the most important part of the stay. Located convenient to wineries, restaurants, and grocery stores.
The property was extremely well-kept in a very beautiful setting. Even though it was raining and windy all night, the yurt was warm and cozy! Cute decorations, modern amenities, and very responsive owners :)
