« Had a one night stay following a trip to Hobbiton movie set. Stayed in chalet Frodo which is only a 10-15 min drive from Hobbiton.The chalet is very clean and well appointed. While quite compact it had everything the two of us required for an overnight stay. We had dinner at Osteria restaurant in the main centre which is only a 3 min drive away. Thoroughly recommend Osteria for quality of food, portion size , atmosphere and price »

« This property was very unique and a great place to stay, especially after visiting the Hobbiton Movie Set earlier in the day. The rooms did smell a little like “Middle Earth” when we arrived, but the fans were running and the owners were obviously trying to deal with the problem which was much appreciated. « We stayed here for two nights to be central to a couple day trips and wish we could stay longer. The property was well taken care of and comfortable. Very spacious. Slept really well. The hosts were considerate, with fresh cut flowers and sweets for the kids. There's some Alpaca, sheep, chickens, and cows on site which is exciting for the kids. Will definitely try to stay here next time I'm near Hamilton. »
