Great weather and place.
We went to Palm Springs for the Ironman race. This place was only 3 miles away from the tennis center where the race is located. Yes the inside decor is dated and look like the pictures posted - but it was perfect for us and the price was great! Loved the pool and hot tub across the street. The weather was absolutely perfect. Sitting on the back deck was lovely with great views of the golf course. Heads up - if you call an u we you have to let the front gate know. Greg is an amazing host and very responsive. Would come back and stay here for sure.

Weekend Getaway
Greg was a very gracious host. There was a issue with the refrigerator when we arrived. Greg went above and beyond to resolve the issue. Thank you Greg. Other than the issue with the fridge, the place was maintained fairly well and comfortable enough for our weekend getaway. The pool was walking distance from the house. The best part was being able to drive the golf cart.

Great Location and nice layout.
This property is in a great location, access to the bikes, golf cart and pools were appreciated. Linens and towels were nice. Morning coffee on both patios were awesome. Unit is showing some wear and tear and could use some updating but overall it was a great stay. The unit was clean and we had an easy check in and out. Would book again !

Property was clean and the unit came with a car, golf cart and bikes. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous and the manager very accommodating. The only negative was the unit could use some updates. Damage from past water leaks were visible and had loosened many tile. Overall a nice stay.

Functional but needs update
Overall, the unit was functional as a short-term rental. However, the physical condition of the unit was disappointing and somewhat embarrassing for us and our guests during our stay. We will not rent this unit again unless updated significantly. Pros: Palm Valley C.C. is a well maintained and beautiful setting. The views from the patio of the mountains and 18th fairway are very relaxing. Fun to watch the golfers. The nearby and numerous community pools were usually empty and well maintained. The gated community is very safe and great for walking and bike riding. We have friends who live in the complex and toured several open houses while we were here so we are aware of how nice the units can be. The unit pros: 4 cruiser bikes, golf cart (tired but functional), plenty of supplies (hand soap, paper towels, TP, laundry soap, dish waster/ dish soap). Washer / dryer, Large TVs/Frontier cable. 3 beds (we only used 2), were comfortable with good linens. BBQ. 3rd bedroom office set up. Lots of closet space. Plantation shutters. Responsiveness of property manager (provided new towels, bathmats and wine glasses immediately upon request) was excellent. Cons: Unit is in need of basic updates. First impressions were poor and disappointing: Front door was dented and some paint was scraped off and no plants in planter. All cabinetry is old and worn and in need of replacement, showers and tubs plumbing all make sounds and water pressure is poor. Tub / shower grout needs replacement. Toilet seats wobbly and worn. Sinks without sink stoppers, sinks are chipped, rusty and worn. No tub mats. Kitchen facet is installed incorrectly and does not pivot as it should. Flooring throughout the unit is worn and in some areas grout is chipping away and there are holes, dire need of replacement. Some kitchen outlets had intermittent power (loose connection) and one outlet by sink was taped over. Furniture is old and worn. Not enough glassware specifically tall glasses and barware. Not many pots and pans and they need replacement. Many light fixtures did not have light covers (just bare bulbs). BBQ difficult to start and flares up dangerously (auto starter inoperable). Refrigerator door water/ice dispenser inoperable. Fireplace inoperable. Fans in some rooms inoperable. Windows and interior mirrors hazy/crazed (sand blasted?). Garage door opener not available/inoperable requiring manual operation.

Neglected and Sparse
We knew it was a 1980’s un-remodeled unit from the photos, but we recommend fixing these things… no dish brush or sponge in kitchen, outlet by kitchen sink covered with scotch tape, only 4 dining room chairs vs. 6 in the photo – otherwise kitchen is good and well stocked. Living room seats 4 on old couch and chair – could use more furniture and newer pieces. Sliding doors hard to open (need new rollers), grout on floors is dirty, lighting would be better by replacing missing or burned out bulbs (we saw both) and adding lights to ceiling fans. Den ceiling fan didn’t work for us. No shampoo in either bathroom, soap only in the master. Low water pressure in house, and you can hear water running in pipes from both bedrooms every time someone flushes a toilet or uses a sink. Master shower makes whining noise and stream of water leaks and sprays 3 inches onto painted drywall above shower head. New paint color half-way up on some walls (old paint color left higher up). Shoe lace tied onto living room ceiling fan on/off switch. No keypad or clicker for garage. Outside door handles hard to turn (front door and garage). No screens on sliders. Some outdoor plants have sharp points dangerous for kids (suggest cutting off points and/or removing). Outdoor cushions were comfy but too big for chairs and too small for chaises (need long chaise cushion not two square ones). Mattresses from 2008 are still good but bedspreads are thin and there was no bedspread or blanket for foldout couch. No bedding for pack ‘n play. Unit only sleeps 6 vs. 8 as shown on VRBO (other popular site shows 10 people capacity). Cottonwood floor plan is 1,650 square feet vs. 1,800 claimed on VRBO. 2nd bedroom TV is smaller than 55” and there is no TV in den as claimed. Should scrub listing for accuracy. No house manual, and check-in info comes 1-2 days prior to arrival. The following were an issue but are now resolved: trash was overflowing from prior guests so we took bags to dumpster, broken glass on front door mat we cleaned up, missing batteries in remote and missing HDMI cable now located, hot water heater needed higher temp. Mgt company was super nice and responsive to questions and problems best they could.
