I have recently booked a two night stay at this property while attending an event in the area. I had the misfortune to arrive in the Catskill in the middle of a heatwave (which affected all the northeast). It was 98 degree outside when I made my way into the YO1 hotel lobby. Upon checking in I was informed by the front desk that their HVAC system was down and there was no AC anywhere in the hotel (they said it might get repair the next day but no guarantee). The air in the lobby was oppressive and the front desk person was clearly struggling with the heat (should have been sent home if you asked me). The employee informed me the hotel management would be reimbursing guests if they chose to cancel their reservation because of the AC situation. So, that's what I did. I went to a nearby property that had working AC. I cancelled my reservation via Expedia the same day and clearly made them aware that the property could not accept guests in these conditions and they should issue me a refund immediately. Expedia gave me the long runaround that they needed to contact the hotel first and they would get back to me. Well, after three days they finally got back to me and said they could not refund my stay as the hotel has not agreed to waive their 48 hour strict cancel policy(the facility was unfit for that). I have called the property but I have not been able to speak with anyone. This is shamefull behavior on the part of the hotel and Expedia.
