« Had a call day before to ask what time we was checking in and give us useful information about the area and what to do. Lady at check in was super nice gave us more tips on the area. Room was warm and clean when arrived. Had kettle and microwave and a mini fridge, no cutlery or plates but that was fine with us. If walking down to the town, it is a very steep hill and takes 15 minutes for the unfit lol. Overall good stay and would stay again. »

Luckily when to the boat inn and the manageress of the boat inn new someone staying that the greyhound hotel that let us in. Just need a direct number for help. Thank you »

« Good welcome, room was lovely and warm and bedding clean and plenty of pillows and spotlessly clean towels. Nice touch of biscuits and chocolate. Great location and good price. Sadly there were signs of mould around the door and bathroom tiling could do with a more intense cleaning of the grout as orange/yellow build up, plus I shared the bathroom with two very large spiders that were well established as had webs in corners. Having said this, I would use the Wellington again as really convenient...

« Lovely historic property, a very quiet and pleasant stay. Dog was allowed in our room only, not to eat. Very comfortable bed and warm room. No fridge in the room, but had tea and coffee facilities, you had to ask daily for milk. Close to plenty of sightseeing and rambling. Hotel also provides fly fishing in season, so will return for this, as perfect by the River Derwent. »

« Loved the decor of the hotel, we stayed in Calke room. Hotel chosen as situated within easy walk to Heights of Abraham event we'd booked. The hotel's Restaurant wasnt fully operational but this is shown on their website. Some hot food was available though Fri & Sat evening and we had very tasty meals. But there are loads of other eateries nearby. Good choices for breakfast as well. All in all we had great weekend with lots to do in the area. We enjoyed the live music at Fish Pond pub short walk...

« My wife and I stayed for 2 nights at the beginning of December in the Warren room and it was so comfortable! Ziz was the perfect host, what a lovely place the Sheriff Lodge is, close to town and 5 mins from a lovely nearby pub for an evening meal. The breakfast was amazing with so much choice, the homemade granola topped with fruit was the best! Overall a wonderful place to stay and we will return in the summer.
