Overall we had a great time staying here while we celebrated my mom’s 80th birthday. I would say the furnishings and finishes are all a little more tired than is reflected in the photographs but for us it was most important to have a large space on the lake we could all spend time together and it was perfect for that. One note for those with mobility issues, there is a step down from kitchen area to the living room/main bedroom level which has the accessible shower. You can go around outside on the sidewalk with a walker to get to lower space but for my dad, once he was on the living room side he stayed there, which also worked for him just something to mention.

Our stay

Pros: overall clean, nice location, beautiful view Cons: mice feces in kitchen-under sink, in drawers, in pans and bowls, stove drawer. Had to wash pots and pans before we used. Feces were also in the half bathroom. Suggest professional exterminators. Also photo of firepit on website is misleading. Picture shows ground filled with rocks. The ground actually has ripped and torn landscaping ground cover material. Makes it look shabby instead of groomed like in the picture.

This place could be so much better. The location on the lake was great, with the fire pit, which we enjoyed one night. We had plenty of space for the group of people staying. We used each of the bedrooms. The dining table was a good size, and the smart tv allowed us to view our own streaming services, which was great. However, the construction of the house is sub par, very poor and not finished. It needs a lot of maintenance and the place was not really that clean. There is a lot of dust on the fans that have some people allergic reactions ( stuffy nose and sneezing) and generally not very sanitary. The ground maintenance people arrived on the Monday morning, while we were still there. It would have been nice if they had done their maintenance before we arrived, so the yard looked nice. This is just poor coordination. We couldn’t use or get access to any utensils because the drawer containing them had collapsed. We came prepared with our own utensils, pots etc, because we didn’t know what we would walk into. I am happy we were over prepared, because otherwise, we wouldn’t have been able to cook and eat as normal. We didnt want to spend $1000 per night for a really nice place, but there should be some minimum standard. Also, it is clear that the neighbors are not fans of this place being rented out for short term renters. Would I stay again? No, I would not. Did we have a good time? Yes, we did, because we came prepared and cleaned everything before we used it.

Good Family Getaway

We came here for a weekend baseball tournament. The property was right on the lake, which was lovely. The home was clean but seems it could benefit from a bit of TLC. Also, the outdoor areas weren’t particularly well maintained, so we didn’t feel we could leverage them. Overall, a great place for our large family, but could use some mild upkeep.

Family vacation Murray Lake

It was a very good overall experience. The communication with the Manager is excellent. The property is much larger inside then it appears outside. The living area is a very good size for the group we had, which was 7 adults and 1 baby. I rate this property very high but it is definitily in need of some repairs to the dock, and decking area as well as the flooring inside in the main bath. But it wasn't anything that hindered our experience.

Great location if you like peace and quiet.

Off the beaten path and no traffic. The fish play hard to get. Talking with the locals they say they are very finicky. With that aside the set up by the lake was where my family and I spent most of our time.

Fully stocked house

The house is an older house that has been renovated. It is fully stocked we didn’t use much but they had it all! If you prefer a Keurig bring one there is a traditional coffee maker. The only thing you may want to know is this is extremely remote. Down a long dirt type road in the woods. This would have effected my booking had I known. This is not the fault of anyone I just didn’t know. It’s a ride to town to get a nice dinner and there isn’t much delivery/door dash available. If you are looking to just stay around the lake and enjoy that this is your place. I would imagine the summer is awesome!

Great Space.

Great indoor and outdoor space! You will not be disappointed. Also well appointed kitchen everything you need to cook. And bonus was the counter top ice maker! Be sure to check out Hollow Creek distillery right down the road. Great local family distillery!

Peaceful setting

The home sits on a beautiful piece of lake Murray, fully stocked kitchen, and a nice fire pit for gathering next to the water. Remote location so many stars can be viewed on a clear night. Bring a flashlight and nightlights.

The home was extremely well stocked. All you needed and then some. Need some minor repairs.

The renting process was extremely easy and I always received prompt response back. My family and had a wonderful time and we all got the rest and peace of mind that was needed.

Amazing location on the lake!

What a wonderful rental home! It was beautifully decorated and a perfect layout for our crew. We had 4 young kids on our trip and it is great for families. The location on the lake was amazing, in a quiet cove and the dock was great for swimming off of. We brought our boat and put it in at Murray Shores Boat Ramp, which is a quick boat ride to the house. Bring some firewood for s’mores and enjoy a stunning sunset over the water. We cannot wait to stay here again! A little piece of heaven for our family.
