The house is cute and overall our stay was ok, but we had some issues out of the gate with no hot water. Host responded to assist when we contacted her during business hours the next morning and we ended up getting hot water when the plumber came out that night. However, the odor from a dead rodent(s) under the sink that she removed when she stopped by never went away. It got worse when we used the water or dishwasher. Not sure if it needed to be cleaned out with bleach or if there were more under that trap but it was a strong foul smell. Sadly, the hot tub jets didn’t work either and after reaching out to her, she thinks it was a pressure issue under the tub so nothing that could be easily remedied for our stay. Amy refunded us for our first night with no hot water and we ended up leaving a night early because the odor in the kitchen area was an issue for us trying to cook and eat there and was making my younger son feel nauseous . I’m sure none of this was intentional by the host but it all put a damper on our trip. We enjoyed the gaming room area and beds were comfy. Amy is a responsive house but only so much could be remedied during our stay. We enjoyed the boat parade and party at Nick’s Lake House - Fun time with great weather for that event. House is in a pretty quiet area. The area in Split Rock and the resort was very quiet with almost no guests or activities. I felt bad having to reach out to her again about the foul odor so we just left a day early.

The Love Shack lives up to its name
Was a great place to do nothing if you want and close enough to other places for some good day trips. Bushkill falls is only 1 hr East and worth the trip! Jim Thorpe 16 miles south. Some really nice restaurants within a mile or so as well. We ate at Louie’s Steakhouse and the food was excellent but pricey. We loved the house decor. Definitely a cool retro place. The master bedroom had a great foam mattress and sleep was great. The house was very clean and comfortable The hostess was very communicative and left us a little gift for our 50th anniversary 😊. The only disappointment was the beach was really not a beach but a lagoon that was closed. I recommend this place!

An Excellent property
We were truly impressed with the overall design and layout of the house. The place had everything we needed and was in beautiful condition. The location was perfect for a relaxing time with friends and family to spend a few days away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The game room and the Jacuzzi added to the experience. I would return in the future.

The Perfect Getaway
My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Love Shack! The house was beautiful, the local restaurants were great, and there’s so many fun activities nearby. We will definitely be back to visit again!

Week away to relax
My husband and I needed time away to rest and relax in a quiet place. The Love Shack provided the perfect place to get away. The cabin is comfortably outfitted for resting and is the perfect getaway location. We played games, soaked in the hot tub, slept amazingly well in the king-sized bed, and took our coffee on the front porch each morning. We can't wait to come back next year!

The Love Shack is a super fun and comfortable stay. Everything well thought out and very clean as it's a recent reno. Fun games, hot tub, firepit, quality furnishings, in a great location .. and great interaction with the owner.. can't ask for more! My 9 year old is already asking to return ;)

More Awesome than Advertised
What a wonderful property! So unique. Spacious rooms, wonderful kitchen area and the showers were unbelievable! We had so much fun! Quick ride to Camelback and some great nearby restaurants. I would wholeheartedly recommend!!

Family Fun
We had a wonderful few days at the love shack! We had 3 generations represented on this trip and all had a blast in the game room, there was no shortage of laughs on this vacation. The hot tub was lovely, the house clean and well appointed.Ran into a minor issue and Amy was so gracious and responsive it was handled in no time. Can’t wait to come again during the summer months! For those Who are interested with kids Jack Frost have very good snowboarding lessons.

If you enjoy contemporary, lots of light from great windows you will love this cabin. The hot tub is really nice to enjoy after a day of hiking. Shuffle board, pacman or Asteroids are a blast with friends

Beautiful Place, and Wonderful Host
This place was so amazing, and really renovated well, as a home improvement contractor, and HVAC contractor as well as a property manager I have seen some great places, and some horrible ones, this was among the best! Well renovated with more than sufficient HVAC (I was there on an 18-degree day) so with all this experience I'm sure you can imagine I can be scrutinizing, and wouldn't leave a review most likely, but this place was truly done right, and is a wonderful place for any couple for sure!!!

Great location, modernized mountain home!
I have to appreciate a host that goes out of their way to make the decor of a house the focal point. Complete with mid-century furnishings and accessories, it was a refreshing, modernized, hip surrounding we were looking for. This fully equipped home is close to amenity filled split rock, ski slopes, and just a quick walk to the lake. On top of having the most comfortable mattresses, and a game room for our teens, this property allows you to bring your fur babies as well! We will be back!
