This house has potential to be great, however the cleanliness and communication with the host made for this poor review. I had to contact the host in order to get check in instructions a day before we were to check in. The host did get back in a good time frame with the instructions but a day before? The house layout and rooms were nice. We had a group of 12 which included teenagers and everyone was comfortable in the house.
However, we quickly were able to see the cleaning of the house was not very good. One of the mattresses on the bunk beds had a large stain on it, the house was filled with dust and cobwebs, the filter for the house had dust on it, the carpeting still had food under the kitchen table and the kitchen chairs had stains and the table was sticky. They had no cleaning items on premise to clean any items. If you have allergies, be careful They had very little directions as to the area or what the home consisted of. Usually in previous VRBO stays, the homeowner would have a "welcome packet" with information on local information and anything else to make your stay comfortable. We stayed in December which is the "off season" and a lot of places were either closed or had different hours due to this. It would have been nice to know this ahead of time. The fireplace in the home also did not work.
I contacted the host numerous times during the stay and messaging thru the VRBO website did not get a response. I had to text the host directly and even then the response was delayed for hours or a day. I understand it was between Christmas and New Years, but a host should still be in contact with there customer.
I contacted the host in regards to a refund for the cleaning fee as the stay for the home was a large amount of money. The host responded the same day advising they were "waiting on the report from the cleaning crew". That was the last I would hear from the host after numerous messages. I contacted VRBO in which they reached out to the host who advised I would be getting a refund on the cleaning fee. Well, its over two weeks and still no communication from the host and no refund.
The home has potential as it is large and spacious. It had a lot of board games, pool table, foosball, and bags. Again, the rooms were great and plenty of refrigerator space.
It was very unfortunate that the host could not communicate to solve a majority of these problems. and just completely ignored there customer as well as VRBO themselves.
