Hotel Kumbalwela

« Few words about this hotel. First i must say that the hotel was always clean and the breakfast service was great, besides that all was terrible, it felt like we were a target. They charged us for every moment. We order a room for 2 adults and a kid, we got a small queen bed for 3 of us, when we asked for extra bed, they charged us 15$ per night, when we lost a card key, they charged us for a 1000r...the toilet stopped working for 3 times.. the most strange thing was at the day we left , they...

« The staff was very friendly and the hotel new and clean. The sound proofing is horrendous throughout the entire hotel. Between rooms and to outside. The lobby played music very loud until 10pm and then turned it down only a little bit until 11pm when it stopped. Very sleep disturbing. »

« Nice place a bit outside of the town in a very quiet neighbourhood. We had a very nice night playing pool with the staff. Good breakfast and a nice room in an old colonial style building. Overall a bit run down though. »

« This was our first stop in Sri Lanka for one night only and after a nightmare journey with flight cancellations, the staff very kindly allowed us to check in at 5am, which we greatly appreciated. The phone number for the hotel was wrong on Expedia so we struggled to get in touch with them to let them know about our late arrival however our driver was able to contact them for us - so just make sure you’ve got the right contact details in case you need them!
