House was a disaster and totally failed customer service
On arrival (5:30pm) the house was a complete disaster - it was very upsetting! The previous renters left a mess behind (pictures available). Clearly, they smoked in the house (odor) - therefore left windows and doors open (safety concern). The bathrooms/ toilets were disgusting. Some of the bedsheets (including the comforters) were tossed in the shower. A pile of dirty personal clothes was left behind next as well as dirty dishes in the kitchen and trash piles downstairs. And so on…
After contacting VACASA immediately we were informed that local management would be contacted and we would get called back within probably 30 min. Since we did not hear anything after 45 min we called VACASA again and were basically told that there is no time to resolution. We explained to that person that we would then have to rent another place to stay and requested a full refund for not being able to stay at the originally rented house. We were told that he would forward the request and we would get contacted. We NEVER got a phone call from the local VACASA management about the status of the house during our 4 day stay in Franklin, NC. Multiple attempts were made from us to contact VACASA/VRBO and get the case resolved.
I feel very sorry for the home owners for having such disrespectful renters in their house. We still are very unhappy with the way this was handled by VACASA. We had to find another accommodation. As of today we have only received a refund for the cleaning fee - ridiculous.
