We had booked for the full month of March, 2020. Due to flight delays we arrived after dark and property manager Fred made himself available to guide us. There were just two of us, and we stayed in the annex, which was a bit easier to heat on chilly mornings. It is roomy and well equipped, good wi-fi. There is some travel literature, and the guest book is full of good recommendations from previous guests. We had plans to move into the mill later in the month, but had to cut our trip short due to the CV-19 travel restrictions. We really enjoyed our stay. It is very rural, with about :15 minutes walk to Cercal, shops and restaurants. We did day trips by car to Lagos, Sines, and other coastal villages, and overnight to Evora and the area, as well as lots of local walks, including the 16 km. to Porto Covo on our last day (took a cab back). Local food and wine (and coffee and pastry) is good and reasonable. The property is very private (cows and sheep as neighbours), and the pool got less skull-numbingly cold as the month went on. We hadn't really expected to be able to use it at all, so it was a nice cold plunge after a morning run. Fred, the property manager, was very helpful and attentive, and looked after things very well. Keith was very accommodating with our early departure. In sum, it suited us to a T, and we hope to be able to return.
