Great House!

Our group of 12 adult siblings and spouses was perfectly comfortable. The easy walk to the dock was a big plus, as was the heated saltwater pool. The only suggestion I would make to prospective guests is to bring your own beach towels for the pool and hot tub as none are provided. The bedrooms and baths were private and comfortable, and the whole house was immaculately clean!

Never wanna leave!

"Palatial" is the adjective that comes to mind. The photos on the site don't do justice to this beautiful property. Between the water amenities (lake, pool, hot tub), the grounds, and all the living spaces - both indoors and out - that range between 'almost formal' to 'very casual', our group of former military officers (now in our 60's), who usually enjoy several excursions during our reunions, were just delighted to stay on-site, and enjoy each others' company. We hung out on the dock, visited with each other around the pool, enjoyed college football in the game room, told stories by the fire pit, and just had a blast. The accommodations are luxurious to the point of opulence (in a good way!). And nobody wanted to leave. We'll definitely be back, even if we're just 'Goin' to Sweet Caroline in our Minds'. WWD

Extended Family Vacation

House was beautiful, as were the views. Off the beaten path from the main lake area, but that was perfect for us - quieter, less boat traffic, lots of wildlife. Everything was as described in the ad, all of the games and equipment were in working order. House was huge, we had 8 adults and 7 kids, but felt like we could have squeezed twice that in a pinch. Forgot how awesome Lake Gaston was, and this was a perfect place to enjoy it from.

Weekend getaway

We had a large group and two dogs and this house was perfect! Plenty of space for everyone, amazing dock to hang out, fantastic patio for grilling and fires. We were ready to book the house again before we even left!

wonderful lake getaway

The property was extremely clean with very comfortable beds. The ages of our group ranged from 17-78 and there was so much to do for everyone. We enjoyed renting the pontoon boat, made good use of the game room, kayaks, hot tub and fire pit. We especially appreciated the flat lot that made it possible for all members of our group to enjoy all of the outdoor perks without worrying about falling. It is a property that offers something for everyone :) And I must mention how much we appreciation the good communication from the host as well.

LOVE this property

This property was perfect for our New Year’s celebration. The house was beautiful. They had everything we could possibly need in the kitchen, and everything was labeled so you knew where everything went. The beds were comfortable. The management company was very friendly and responsive for any issues we had. They even mailed back some items I forgot in the house. I would absolutely stay here again and 100% recommend this property and management company.

Definitely a Winner

Our stay was absolutely delightful. The owner was very tentative and had everything ready to go. Met all expectations and then some with the excellent host. Very spacious. Perfect for Holidays and family events. Pictures don’t do it justice. Highly recommend! Note: upstairs master and double queen are connected, as the map shows, however they Do both have separate room entrances as well.

Fabulous retreat!

We rented here for the first time with our annual Ladies Weekend Retreat. It is a wonderful house that is well maintained, clean, organized, and thoughtfully appointed. The views are fantastic, there is plenty of space for activities, and the grand kitchen makes meal prep easy & fun. We enjoyed our daily walk to the recreation/dam area and relaxing in the hot tub and around the firepit while taking in the views. Highly recommend!

Best. Lake. Vacation. Ever.

WOW! Sweet Caroline is magnificent, and there's so many fun ways to enjoy Lake Gaston. Couldn't ask for a better house for our family. Boat house with plenty of water toys, hot tub, extensive game room, massive kitchen, and large master suites and bedrooms. They've thought of everything. Can't wait to come back.

Great Vacation

We stayed at Sweet Caroline for our annual family vacation. Grandpa and Grandma, 5 grown children, 3 in-laws, 2 friends, and 5 grandchildren. We had a great time!! The house, boathouse, and apartment/garage offered plenty of space for our family. John is great to work with; when the living room TV went out, he had a new TN up and running in less than 3 hours. The kitchen was very well stocked, and the 3 full size refrigerators were very much appreciated. I highly recommend Sweet Caroline for large family vacations.

Easter Family Vacation

This house was the best we have ever rented. The kitchen was so well equipped. We were able to cook an Easter Dinner for 13 people. The age range was 2 years to 80 years old. It was great having our adult kids and their family under one roof. The boathouse was perfect. We did spend alot of time there fishing and watching the kids enjoy the water toys. The sunsets were amazing from anywhere, the house, yard or dock. We loved the boat. Touring the lake was awesome. Ending the evenings with a fire was the cherry on top.

Perfect spot on the lake!

This is a wonderful house with all the amenities. We'd especially recommend renting the hydro cycles -- what an amazing way to experience the lake. Beautiful outdoor space right on the lake -- and so much space!

Fabulous family Christmas Vacay

The house was everything mentioned and more all the bedrooms were fabulous. Our ages were from seven months to 63 years old and everyone had space for activities & entertainment. We started doing our family vacation to celebrate Christmas several years ago and it has been everything we had hoped for and more. The beds were comfortable the washer and dryer were great and being able to unload inside in the garage was fabulous thank you Sweet Caroline our stay was amazing. I’m guessing because of the size of the home the upstairs was a bit chilly but the extra blankets in every room kept us warm and cozy!

Awesome property exactly as pictured.

Sweet Caroline is immaculately clean, comfortable and well equipped. Exactly as described and pictured! No surprises. We particularly enjoyed the spacious kitchen as each couple cooked a large family meal on different nights. The hot tub is large clean and usable even in January. It was warm enough to kayak, which some of us did, but too cold for the pontoon boat unfortunately. The property is very user friendly in many small ways with light switches and cupboards etc. labeled. The fireplace comes on at a flip of a switch. The only thing I would wish for was additional seating in the family room to better accommodate large groups like ours indoors. But fair to say this is more of an outdoors summer activity-oriented property and the seating and dining options on the patio (and on the dock) are extensive. We'll definitely be back to visit this property again.
