« Great place to stay for a short getaway! »

« The fireplace was fully supplied with wood and fire starter. It was so warm and cozy on a very cold stay. Plenty room for 4 girlfriends getaway. »

« Greeted upon arrival and given tour and history of property. Short time later provided cheese tray and choice of wine on screened in porch with the other guests, followed by fresh baked cookies. Very enjoyable. Short walk to the downtown area for all the dining and shopping areas, great location. Room was very clean and in good condition. Slept very well on the bed. We will stay here again on another Galena visit. »

« As I had found that this property was once owned by my 3X great granduncles I was fascinated by the history and walked in their footsteps. As I descended the original, narrow stairs with the low hand rails I imagined the original women in their high button shoes and hoop skirts more gracefully than me maneuvering them daily. It was a pleasant step back in time with it's antique atmosphere and original structure. It was my 48th wedding anniversary and staying at a family home made it even more...

« Yes, the breakfast menu was okay. Staff was friendly. Parking was safe. I checked out a day early, 12/06/25, but I originally paid to check out 12/07/25. Is there a refund other than a debit card return of $4.93? »

« The one thing I will caution future guests about is breakfast. It’s one menu selection (there is no menu to choose from) for everyone every morning. So if you’re a picky eater or have lots of food sensitivities, this could be a real hassle. It is served in your room only, and delivery runs a bit on island time. So if you have timed plans in the morning, make sure to give yourself an extra half hour buffer to account for possible breakfast delays. Other than that, I had an absolutely fabulous...

« We didn't eat breakfast so no opinion on that!! The room was nice and staff was fantastic. Very nice and very helpful. We came for the cheese trail and SXS riding. Very nice area and the riding was fantastic too. »

« The place was very clean and comfortable a great bar. I really was disappointed not having a hot breakfast like eggs toast and waffles etc but I definitely will stay here again when I come visit Thomson Illinois »

« Our stay at the steamboat house was SO much fun. The other people staying were lovely and the innkeeper and her daughter were so sweet! They were so accommodating, made amazing breakfast, and the space was just gorgeous. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again! »
