My husband and 2 young adult children stayed here for 3 nights for their sister's graduation from UVM and the location could not have been better. We easily walked to everything. There was off street parking and the neighborhood felt safe and welcoming. The beds were clean/comfortable. The shower was nice with hot water and there were plenty of towels. The host (who I never had a chance to meet) left snacks and extra food, including coffee. I also appreciated that there were extra outlets, including next to the bed, which sometime hotels don't even have.
That said, we have stayed in a lot of homes over the years, and this was not a 10. It was also not a 4 as a previous reviewer wrote. If you are looking for a picture perfect newly updated home, this is not it. The owner notes that she is working on restoring it but what might be "charming and character" to one person is going to feel dirty and disorganized to another.
Here are our take-aways and recommendations:
1. All the important things were clean but the walls, (eg bathroom), could use a good wipe down. Have bedroom rug cleaned. Dust.
2. Put a lock on the bathroom door, particularly since it doesn't latch easily.
3. We had trouble finding more than 4 forks. We don't need fancy cutlery but extra is helpful.
4. Update the photos with any changes (sunroom) and better represent the bathroom, which is generally very important to people.
5. Keep iron and ironing board together.
Hope this helps the host and next guests!
