Amazing Location and Beautiful House
We absolutely loved staying here!! The location was so amazing. We could sit on the porch for hours taking in the view. We loved swinging on the porch swing, playing games, having a fire while taking in the scenery. The house was decorated beautifully and fully equipped with all the little things that make it so convenient. This was the best rental house we have stayed at. So clean and cozy. We can’t wait to come back!!.

The perfect getaway
My family and I booked this property as a home base to float locally and it far exceeded our expectations. The home is perfect in every way. The attention to every little detail made our stay effortless as well. The outdoor swing, and multiple fireplace options were where we spent our time most. The huge yard area was perfect for playing catch, wiffleball, frisbee, or just hunting for lightning bugs. The pond onsite is such a relaxing view and our children had such a great time feeding the fish. We really made some great family memories and i am thankful to have been able to spend pur time here. The hosts are top notch m, incredibly responsive to questions and overall thoughtful. We are already planning next years stay!

Magical!
We just love this property and its owners! The chateau is a hidden gem indeed. The home and land it sits on is beyond perfect…. It is hard to leave! We found ourselves enjoying the covered patio throughout the day and night during sunshine and thunderstorms… listening to and observing nature at its finest. Oh and the fireflies glistening in the tree line at night is just magical! We can’t say enough good things about this home, Christie & Tracey, and the friendly town of Bourbon. Thank you for such wonderful hospitality!

This is a great home on a beautiful piece of land, one of the best places that we have stayed. We spent the most part of one day just sitting around and watch turkeys and deer in the yard. It worked out perfect for a family of four. Owers were awesome and easy to work with. We will be visiting again.

Truly a Hidden Gem
We were in town for Thanksgiving and are so glad we found this rental. It was so cozy, well-stocked and the entire family enjoyed the property. It’s a short, easy drive from town, but still secluded and tranquil. We loved the outdoor fireplace, ample outdoor furniture, pond and grounds. The inside speaks for itself in the photos, but once you’re inside it smells amazing, looks amazing and feels amazing. Limited options of accommodations are a big factor that keeps us from visiting our family in the area but now that we found Hidden Gem, that’s no factor at all. Thank you for a great Thanksgiving visit!

Charming and beautiful getaway
This property was the perfect place for my bridesmaids, family, and I to get ready for my wedding! The house is spacious and the windows overlooking the property were so relaxing and charming! It is a Hidden Gem
We very much enjoyed our stay! My wife’s first comment was “This is a well stocked VRBO!” The large grassy are was a hit for the girls, four of them, 6 and under. They loved going down to the pond to feed the fish. It is in a lovely little valley. Big meadow out front sloping down to the pond. Forest starts at meadow’s edge.

A getaway to remember
Property was beautiful. Place was decorated very nice. Enjoyed watching and feeding the fish and turtles at the spring filled pond. It was a nice surprise to see three deer in the big open yard in the morning. Sunrises and sunsets were divine to watch from the outdoor porch swing. Stargazing was perfect around the fire pit. Loved the wall of windows to let all the natural light come in the house. Having it face the big yard and pond was a good idea. The gas fireplace inside surrounded by the rock wall made for a cozy evening inside. The kitchen had all the basics, so we could bring our own food and cook which was nice. We loved reading about the history of the house and property and it inspired us to go visit Meramec Springs for the day to see the trout hatchery and the old iron mine. Thank you for sharing your home with us. I hope one day to have a space like that to call my own. 🙂

Beautiful home on well manicured grounds. Well equipped house with everything you need for a weekend or a week. Just What Was Needed
This place was AMAZING and exactly what we needed. From the check-in to the communication to the little "extras" that come with it. Christie and Tracey are great to work with and truly get hospitality, and are generous to let others rent this space. A little slice of peace. Whether you like the indoors and want to peer out on the property (turkeys and deer included) from the inside, or you like to walk through a field and explore the active spring, this place would be perfect. Great for an individual like myself or a whole family (I plan to bring mine next time!) The only bummer is that it was so hot/humid I didn't get to enjoy the outdoor area as much as I wanted and the amazing fireplace and grill set up. Rent this place...period...you will love it!

We stayed for the weekend. The owner of this property thought of everything. Charging station, coffee bar, corn hole, kids fishing stuff, and it was spotless! If the back porch was screened in I would have slept on the swing! It was so comfortable. The owner even had muffins from the bakery waiting for us. They were delish! We will be back!!!

The Chateau is perfect... we had a group of 7 for a girl's weekend and float trip and the Chateau was the perfect cozy stay for us. Just like being at home, The Chateau had everything we could need and more. The hosts are awesome and so accommodating, even had the BEST muffins waiting for us at check-in.
